Velma Georgia Adlington

Velma Georgia Adlington, 93, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the home of Lonnie and Donna Mayle. She was born March 2, 1923, in Grafton. daughter of the late George Dewey and Eva Poe Rogers. She was preceded death by her husband Norman W. Adlington, Sr. October 25, 1985, and her son Norman W. "Skeeter" Adlington, June 5, 2016, and a sister, Violet Hamilton.
Velma graduated from Grafton High School Class of 1939, and was Executive Secretary for the Taylor County Board of Education. She loved to go to the Senior Center to play Bingo, walk, plant flowers and work in her yard. She loved music. She is a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, and a former member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Lake Adlington, three grandchildren, Rodney Adlington and wife Allison, Bridgeport, Tracy Adlington and wife, Sue Koval, Northville, MI, Jarod Adlington, Huntington, two great grandchildren; Jada Lynn Adlington and Paislee Lynn Adlington.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton, on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 4-7 PM. and on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 9-11AM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00AM.at Bartlett Funeral Home. With Rev. Bert Coffman officiating. Interment will follow at Bluemont Cemetery.
