Thomas Cannon Limbers, 85, of Grafton passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, AL. He was born December 5, 1929, son of the late Norah C. Limbers. Tom was born in Grafton, WV and lived there until August 1, 2014 when he moved to Dadeville, AL to be nearer to his son Mark. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Helen J. Limbers; son, Mark A. Limbers and his wife, Bobbie, of Eclectic, AL; six grandchildren, Bethany Knight and husband Arthur, Nichole Fazio and husband Christopher, Nathan Robbins and wife Erica, Nicholas Robbins, Patrick Robbins, Megan Robbins; three great-grandchildren, Regan Knight, Rylee Knight, and Beckham Fazio. Tom was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Michael Limbers; one daughter, Brenda (Limbers) Robbins; two sisters, Joan L. Conway, Connie L. Shuster. Tom served with the United States Army in the Korean War, was honorably discharged as a Sergeant, and served for 18 years in the Army Reserve. He retired from the railroad as a Trainmaster of CSXT Railroad with over forty-four years of service. He was a member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Tom was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, a member of Order of the Elks, and a member of Retired Administrators of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company (RABO). His number one love was his family, but he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and attending Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Tom was also proud of his Irish heritage. Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. A Prayer Vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2015, at Saint Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim O'Connor as celebrant. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Guard of Camp Dawson. Pallbearers: Nathan Robbins, Nicholas Robbins, Patrick Robbins, Eddie Robbins, Arthur Knight, Christopher Fazio; Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Fawcett, David Hedrick, Clint Holmes, Charles Kinsey, David Lucas, Mike Manning, Charles Moran, Robert E. Moore, Floren Warder.
