Shirley Ann Hose

Shirley Ann Hose, age 67, of Irontown Rd., Thornton, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Monongalia County, WV, April 30, 1946, a daughter of the late Otis Edward Leggett and Merle Lorenabelle (Helms) Leggett. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Earl "Junior" Hose, February 27, 2007, and her companion of many years, Burl D. Shaffer, August 28, 2009.
Shirley formerly worked for West Virginia University Housing and Residential Life as a painter. She enjoyed cookouts and family outings, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved flea markets, yard sales, and flower gardening. Shirley was a "people person" she never met a stranger, and she loved all people. She was a member of the former Faith Tabernacle.
Surviving are: four children, Dennis Allen Hose and companion Priscilla Ann Lewis, of Grafton, Terry Wayne Hose and companion Cheri Schoonover, of Grafton, Rebecca Marie White and companion Arthur Summers, of Morgantown, and James Junior "Jay" Hose and wife Brenda Sue, of Morgantown, WV; six grandchildren, Randall Jachelski, Nicholas Jachelski, Ashlee Nicole Hose, Tiara Dawn Hose, Chelsea Brooke Rankin, and Randall Michaels; one great granddaughter, Jaelyn Denae Hose; five siblings, Edward Leggett, Floyd Leggett, Catherine May and husband Jim, Ronnie "Hun Bun" Leggett and companion Dessie Jenkins, all of Thornton; two sisters-in-law, Leona Jenkins and Bonnie Leggett, both of Grafton; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Friday from 2-8PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the funeral home with Lay Minister Chester Saucer and Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
