Russell Marvin Boylen

Russell Marvin Boylen, 85, of Valley Falls, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 16, 1929 in Grafton, a son of the late Clifford Daniel and Chloe Florence Shahan Boylen. Russell was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lee Boylen June 25, 2013.
He was a US Army Veteran. Russell worked in the Coal Mines and retired from Atha Trucking in Bridgeport. He loved being a beekeeper and was an active in the Beekeeper Association. He enjoyed gardening and bird watching and his greatest joy in life were his great grandsons, Christopher and "Jordy Bug"
Surviving are three children, Gary M. Boylen, Debbie K. Laux and Joyce E. Henderson, all of Grafton; four grandchildren, Heather, Mindi and husband Josh, Megan and husband Cody, and Zachary; two great grandsons, Christopher and Jordan; two step grandchildren, Brett and Brianna; five brothers and sisters; Rev. Francis Boylen and wife Naomi, Jimmy Boylen, of Grafton, Rev. Lester "Darl" Boylen and wife Nancy, and Margie Newlon of Buckhannon, Helen Toney and husband Rev. Walker Toney, Marion, NC.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his Son-In-Law, Randy Laux, four brothers, Delbert Shahan, Clyde Boylen, Ralph Boylen, Merle Boylen; and one sister, Dorothy Gainer, and other special loved ones.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 3-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 am with Lay Minister Jimmy Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Guard of Camp Dawson.
