Rebecca Jane Nicholas

Rebecca Jane "Becky" Nicholas, 61 of Grafton, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Monongahela, PA. July 29, 1953, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Esther Warne Scharschu. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. William "Nick" Nicholas March 18, 2009.
She taught at Anna Jarvis Elementary, and Taylor County Middle School, and retired from the Taylor County Board of Education, she was the Attendance Director for the School System in Taylor County. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.
Becky is survived by one son; Michael Garvin and wife Melissa, one granddaughter, Zoey Garvin, all of Grafton, one sister, Mary Ann Gross and husband Ernie, San Diego, CA. one brother, David Scharschu, one brother-in-law, John Nicholas lll, and wife Loretta, Fairfax, VA., one sister-in-law, Susan Nicholas, Little Washington, VA. and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Jacqueline Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
