Nelson Jefferson Pyles

Nelson Jefferson Pyles, 74, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Grafton, WV. March 3, 1941, a son of the late Walter J. Pyles and is survived by his loving Mother, Rose Derosa Pyles Sylvester, Grafton.He graduated from Grafton High School, Class 1959. Nelson was in the United States Navy. He loved boxing, collecting coins and attended the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church, Webster.He addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Adina Howlett and husband Clive, England; Nelson Walter Pyles, Pittsburgh, PA, one brother, Jerry Pyles, Sciota, PA, one sister, Rose Ann Beeman, OK; two granddaughters, Samantha, and Annabelle, One adopted son, Wade W. Moyer, Grafton, his faithful companion, Darlene Jenkins, Grafton, her children, Robert Moyer, Lisa Moyer, Jamie Bolyard, all of Grafton and his dog Queenie.
In addition to his Dad, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Pyles and sister, Emma Sue Penix.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday, July 23, 2015, from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM on Friday July 24, 2015, at Bartlett Funeral Home with Rev. David Maley officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries, and the WV. Army National Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
