Manuella "Betty" Estel

Manuella "Betty" Estel, age 86, of Fairmont passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Beulah Land Personal Care home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born in Fairmont, WV, May 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Claude Neel and Audra Alvarez Neel. Her loving husband, Herbert Estel, Jr., whom she married on September 21, 1949, precedes her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Phillips and wife Betty of Fairmont and Nathan Estel and wife Mary of Grafton; seven grandchildren, Doug Mills and wife Melissa of Grafton, Stephanie Dean and Shawn of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeff Mills and wife Rebecca of Newnan, GA, Gene Estel and wife Robyn of Scott Depot, WV, Shawn Phillips and wife Heather of Grafton, Nathan Estel of New York, NY, and Sunny Brumage and husband Jeremy of Fairmont; 17 great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Richard Davis of Fairmont, Carl Estel of MI and Dale Estel of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, two sons, Daniel Estel and Paul Estel and one sister, Angelina Davis, precede her in death.

Ms. Estel retired from the Grafton Apparel Factory and was a member of Wickwire Homemakers Club and Hebron Baptist Church. To the family and members of the community, she will be remembered for her generous hospitality and homemade bread and apple butter.

Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 1pm - 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Bartlett Funeral home with Chaplain James R. Riggs officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice at 67 Casino Drive, Anmore, WV, 26323.
