Katharine Hawkins Robinson

Katharine Hawkins Robinson, 91 of Yates Ave. Grafton passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 , at Home Away from Home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Flemington, WV. January 5, 1925 daughter of the late Howard T. and Emma Coplin Hawkins, In April 4, 1981 she married Harry J. Robinson who passed away in February 24, 1984.Katharine known as "Katy" graduated from Flemington High School and WV Business College. She worked for Reppert Coal Flemington Telephone Co., and retired after 45 faithful years from Bartlett Funeral Home her second home. Grafton where she was a secretary/bookkeeper. She belonged to the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and a circle member, was a member of Quota Club, National Secretaries Association, board member of Grafton Senior citizens, VFW Aux. in Grafton and Flemington Chapter #126 OES where she was a Past Matron. She leaves many friends and family who will miss her kind and loving ways.Surviving are a brother, Frank C. Hawkins and wife Vietta of Bridgeport, a sister-in-law, Betty J. Hawkins, Weirton, one niece, Sandra Hawkins Valdez and husband Mike, Chandler, Texas, one nephew, Dr. Randall Hawkins and wife Jennifer, Pt. Pleasant, WV. Great nephews, Jonathan Hawkins, Christopher Hawkins, Trevor and Tate Hawkins, Pt. Pleasant , WV. Richard Armstrong, Rush Armstrong and Allison Armstrong, Wellsburg, WV. Great step nephews, Justin and Christopher Valdez, Texas.
In addition to her parents and husband Katy was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas C. Hawkins and and a niece Deborah Hawkins Armstrong.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Home Away from Home for there loving care they gave her, and Hospice Care who made her more comfortable and helped in so many ways, It is greatly appreciated by the family.
Special thanks to Nancy Bartlett who has been there to help the family in any way for many years. We are grateful for Ann Moats, Linda Adlington and Bobbie Murray who for 6 ½ years made sure her hair was always cut and styed. Friends Billie Bowman and Bobbie Murray made her stay happier at the home by having Christmas parties with our family there and the afghans and many things they did for her.

She will be at her second home Bartlett Funeral Home Grafton, WV. for viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Thursday, June 16, 2016 graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon Woodsdale Memorial Park. On Thursday, June 16, 2016 With Rev. Jimmy Johnson, officiating. Following the services Katy will be buried beside her beloved husband Harry.
