Harold Bradford "Buck" Bowman, 86, of Grafton, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Grafton City Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1928 in Barbour County, a son of the late Harry Deward and Virgie L. Ball Bowman. He is survived by his wife Betty Marie Stone Bowman whom he married October 20, 1951.
Buck was a Veteran of the US Army and he served in the Korean War. He loved working on cars, tractors he loved to tinker with his tools helping people get their cars, and trucks running. Buck loved trains, and working in his garden and watching westerns on TV. He loved spending time with his family and friends and never meet a stranger.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, James Harold Bowman and wife Barbara, Newburg, Caroline Colebank and husband Todd, Fellowsville, Bradford Bowman and wife Darlene, Grafton, Lee Anna Bowman and husband Dale Wilson, Westville, FL; six grandchildren, Chris Johnson, James Bowman, Ben Bowman, Brett Colebank, Tristen Bowman, Linsey Bowman; five great grandchildren, Kayonna Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Grace Johnson, Issac Johnson, Josie Bowman; two brothers; Forest Bowman, Grafton, Ted Bowman, and wife Ida Grafton; two sisters, Carol Hamilton and husband Wesley, Grafton; Shirley Pitcher, Morgantown, one sister-in-law; Dorothy Bowman, Moatsville, WV.and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Bowman and Bob Bowman.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 2-8PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00AM, Tuesday January 20, 2015 Rev. Sue Lowther officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
Military honors will be presented by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries and the WV. Army national Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
