Dorothy Florence Poling

Dorothy Florene Poling, 93 of Grafton, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at United Hospital Center with her family her side. She was born in Barbour County, March 15, 1923, a daughter of the late Harry O. and Cora Jane Shahan Hovatter and her step-mother, Flossie Hovatter. She will join her husband Delton Poling, who preceded her in death on September 21, 1993.
Dorothy was a member of the Blueville Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting for her family and friends and loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Dorothy is survived by one son, George Poling and wife RoseMary, Grafton; one daughter, Barbara Duckworth and husband Gary, Moatsville; one daughter-in-law, Song Poling, Fife, WA; five grandchildren, Stephanie Helms and husband Brian, Nathan Poling and wife Rhonda, Christopher Latta and wife Shannon, Jessica Ma and husband Nick, Daniel Poling and wife Gena; nine great grandchildren, Wyatt Poling, Anna Poling, Gracie Poling, Tucker Latta, Sylus Latta, Ethan Ma, Jane Dorothy Ma, and Benjamin Ma, Norah Poling; one sister, Betty Swick, Grafton; one foster daughter, Mary Jane Wallace, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert D. Poling; seven brothers, Odbert Hovatter, Dennis Hovatter, John Hovatter, Carl Hovatter, Eldon Shahan, Charles Goff, William Goff; four sisters, her twin, Dona Powell, Lucille Bartlett, Wilda Goff, and Audra Goodwin
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave on January 20, 2017 from 3-8PM. and on January 21, 2017 from 9-11AM, Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Bartlett Funeral Home with Evangelist Dan Plumb officiating.
