Delma Lee Abel

Delma Lee Abel, 95 of Grafton, Valley Falls Community, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born July 17, 1921 at Valley Falls, son of the late Frances Marion and Lizzy Shriver Abel. He joined his wife Ethel M. Abel, who preceded him death February 5, 2017.
Delma was born and raised in the same house where he grew up and where he went to join his beloved Ethel. The timber that built the house was cut from their farm. He worked at Mon Power, Hazel Atlas, and was a clock repairman operating "Abel Clock and Watch Repair." Delma was a US Army Veteran, serving in Africa and Italy.
He is survived by four daughters, Ida Lee Wager and Wayne D, Creston, WV, Nancy Sue Densmore and Neil, Valley Falls, Judy Ann Messenger and Keith; Grafton, Jeri Lyn Metz and Johnathan, Fairmont; ten grandchildren, Justin Wager and Raquel, Dexter Wager and Stacy, Amanda Tingler and Jason, Jody McCartney, Timothy Densmore and fiancée Jennifer, Leela Densmore and fiancé Aaron, Amanda Messenger and Joey, Nancy Clark and Faris, Sarah Metz and fiancé Cody, Ethan Metz; thirteen great grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Bethany, Ryan, Cole, Flora, Sophia, Dakota, Madusta, Evan, Graydon, Alexis, Adylyn and one on the way "Tadpole"; one great great grandson Tanner and one on the way;
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Abel, John Warren Abel and one sister, Bertha Clark Henderson.

Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 2-8PM and on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 10am until time of service at 1:00pm, with Pastor Terry L. Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Lawler Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran Council Honor Guard and the WV Army National Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
