Dana M. George

Dana George, 88, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday June23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rangoon, WV, August 24, 1926, a son of late Arley and Delphia George.
Dana was in the United States Army and was a World War II Veteran. He retired as a Conductor for CSX after 39 years of service. Dana was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was committed to helping anyone in need and never met a stranger. He touched countless people throughout his life with his positive attitude and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elladean George: three sons, Carl and Claudia George of Whitehall, WV, Kevin and Cathy George, Kissimmee, FL and Shawn and Deveran George of Morgantown, WV; 10 grandchildren , Patty (Pat) McFarland, Michelle (Geno) Guerrieri, Dana, Ryan, Shane, and Haley George, Jason (Samantha) Gordon, Bobbi Jo (Scott) Gordon, Bruce (Julia) Dirden, and Tanzer George; 5 great grandchildren, Blake, Kylie, Hunter, Brenden, Avery, and Aden. 2 brothers, Lynn George, NJ., (Eddie), Sherlock George and wife Audrey, Parkersburg, one sister-in-law, Marlene George, Mabie, WV and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhea George, brother, Henry George, his sister, Marie Fultz.
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM on Friday June 26 2015, at Bartlett Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Lowther officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries, and the Air Force National Guard.
